Veteran park ranger Alexander Doyle is tracking a nuisance bear when he runs across obnoxious environmentalist Martin Ramirez. He and Martin have clashed before, when Martin and the protestors under his leadership ended a plan to expand the network of paved trails and improve accessibility. Given a choice, Alex would rather face the bear.
When the dangerous grizzly attacks them and Martin is gravely wounded, his only chance of survival is Alex’s determination to keep him alive through the night. But they’re stranded miles from any hope of rescue with the year’s first snowstorm coming in fast.

The writing was excellent. The story was well plotted. A park ranger is tracking a dangerous bear and comes upon an environmentalist. Upon investigating he finds that the man is one who has opposed him on several park matters. During their meeting, the environmentalist falls and is badly injured. The remaining story involves keeping both of them alive in freezing weather.Product details

A very short story, which I struggled a bit with mainly because I didn’t have time to get to know the characters. However, the blurb was just too tempting for me to pass up.
I love enemies to lovers, I love conflict, and action, and struggles between my guys, so this was calling to me. I loved the bear and injury segment but I just didn’t see the attraction or pull between Martin and Alex. Martin was not all that attractive to me…personality-wise or character. He was just an arrogant jackass environmentalist that cared for no one but himself. Alex at least seemed to be a good guy; I just didn’t see what he saw in Martin…at all.
Considering the story is only 66 pages long I get that things have to move at a faster pace, but this insta-love between two known enemies didn’t work for me. I really loved the bear parts and the rescue, and Alex thinking that the bear came back and got Martin. I liked that a lot, but the two of them as a couple didn’t work for me. Not at all.
Alexander Doyle is a park ranger on a mission. After finding the body of a young girl mauled and torn apart by a bear, and having the girls friend die in transport to the hospital, it is Alex's mission to find and kill this bear before it can kill anyone else.
Martin Ramirez is a thorn in Alex's side. The eco friendly photographer has protested expanding the walking trails that surround the park on multiple occasions. Both have their reasons for wanting what they want, and both are valid once the stories are told. They just simply do their best to avoid each other. Until Martin becomes the crazy bears latest victim.
Alex has to find shelter for himself and a very bruised, battered and broken Martin as a snow storm blows in after Martin was attacked by the bear. These two in close quarters may prove to be more hazardous for their health than a crazy mad grizzly bear! But there is a comfort between them from the start. They share stories and get to know each other better and an obvious attraction blooms. But once they Alex gets help will he follow through and see if there is something between him and Martin? Or will he simply walk away.
This was just a fast, fun read. I was engrossed the entire time as the author hit the ground running with the story. Character development came along at the right time, and there was a lot included in such a short amount of pages. There was drama, emotions, passion and electricity in this short story. Looking for something to devour before bed? Or perhaps wanting to heat up your lunch hour? This is the perfect little feel good morsel!
